Salt Circle ~ PAUS, Cambridge

There is something about an evening like this ~ one that begins outside, barefoot on the earth, and ends in candlelight ~ that quietly rearranges you.

This is a special summer Salt Circle, held at Paus: thirteen acres of Cambridgeshire countryside designed to help you do a lot while doing nothing at all. It felt like exactly the right place to gather.

We begin on Paus’ barefoot sensory trail ~ a kilometre of natural textures underfoot, open meadow, and the particular quality of light that only comes in a long summer evening. A gentle way to transition out of the day and land somewhere quieter.

Jess hosted weekly barefoot walks on this trail in 2021-22, so will be a lively & fun return to the land.

Afterwards, there’s time to eat and settle. The hilltop bistro will be open for pizza night ~ stay for dinner if you’d like to, or simply rest before we move inside.

As dusk draws in, we gather in the studio for the Salt Circle itself: story, reflection, and shared space. The kind of evening that stays with you.

No experience necessary. Come as you are.

What is a Salt Circle?

A quiet hour of warmth, salt, and story.

Fortnightly gatherings.
Small, intimate group.

This is a space to soften.
To come back into your body without effort.

Your feet rest in warm salt water.
The light is low.
A folk story is read aloud ~ rooted in place, steadying, slow.

You’re not asked to share.
There is nothing to perform.
Nothing to fix.

You can simply arrive, sit, and listen.

“The reflexology, the folklore stories, the evening salt circles - all of it was intentional, thoughtful and infused with her signature warmth. Such magic.”

I’ve spent fifteen years working as a reflexologist, and over that time I’ve come to trust that the body holds so much ~ stress, grief, joy, and a deep longing for rest. The Salt & Moon Circle grew out of the evening rituals I hold at my coastal retreats ~ salt water, candlelight, and the quiet that forms when women are given genuine permission to slow down. I wanted to bring that feeling home. To make it regular. Accessible. Something to return to each month ~ a quiet anchor in the rhythm of the year.

There is a world running parallel to your ordinary one. Not better. Not an escape.
Just ~ lit differently.

And you are allowed to visit.

Four times a year,
Jess takes a small group away on retreat.
Salt Circles every night before bed.
